How-To Guide: Designing A Professional Services Engagement

Overview

Keyfactor offers Professional Services Engagements to enrich customers' enablement and adoption of our products/services and use cases. Professional Services offerings have been designed specifically to meet the needs of each product and can be tailored to solve for each customer’s business goals.

This Professional Services Catalog outlines the offered service packages, designed to meet diverse customer needs through comprehensive solutions. The document details the scope, deliverables, and responsibilities associated with each package.

How To Use The Services Catalog

  • Step 1. Choose Your Product

    • To begin, select the product / product stack that was purchased to view the corresponding Professional Services offerings. (each infrastructure will need its own workflow).

    • To view those pages, navigate back to the home page of the Catalog and select the appropriate product’s tile.

  • Step 2. Choose your Package Type

    • Our service offerings are classified into different package types, each comprising a set of deliverables and responsibilities for both Keyfactor and the customer. These outlines ensure seamless implementation, integration, and operation of Keyfactor products within your organization. It is essential to note that Keyfactor may update or modify the available Professional Services Bundles at any time at its discretion. To view the broad definitions of the available PS package types, you can read the below section. Each package includes specific service deliverables to ensure successful implementation and operation of Keyfactor products.

    • To view specific components of each package per product, please navigate back to the home page of the Catalog and select the appropriate product’s tile.

  • Step 3. Choose Your Use Cases

    • PS Use Cases are individualized SKUs that are designed for implementing a specific product/integration/service, etc into a customer environment. PS Use Cases are categorized by complexity and intended to be inserted into an overall PS Package Type to create a customer-specific PS Engagement. PS Use Case SKUs are intended to pair with PS Adoption Sets (outside of scoped specialty situations). The Use Case SKUs target the product deployment/configuration of scoped use cases, whereas the Adoption Sets target executing and furthering enablement.

    • To view each product’s available Use Case SKUs, navigate back to the home page of the Catalog, and select the appropriate product’s tile, from there you will see a sub page with the available use cases listed.

      • Basic PS Use Cases:  Basic use cases are the building blocks in configuring our products to meet each customer’s needs.

      • Intermediate PS Use Cases: Intermediate use cases are more complex use cases that require additional effort to install and/or configure.

      • Advanced PS Use Cases:  Advanced use cases are highly complex use cases that require a large amount of effort to install and/or configure.

      • PS Adoption Sets are working sessions that can be applied to any use case of any complexity. PS Adoption Sets are intended to pair with PS Use Case Deployment SKUs (outside of scoped specialty situations). The deliverable is the working sessions themselves, not the guarantee of a product deployment/configuration. Each set is comprised of 4 working sessions per order to be used within a 2-week period (2 sessions per week) and only purchasable in an Additional Services Package. PS Adoption sets can be applied to executing and furthering enablement on complex use cases with technical experts.

Professional Services Package Types

Onboarding Packages are best suited for customers who are standing up a new infrastructure. This option delivers a structured, outcome-driven implementation designed to establish a strong foundation for the customer's Keyfactor platform through a clearly defined scope and coordinated responsibilities. Customers can purchase both Package Types for concurrent deployment at once - sold as one opportunity.

Additional Services Packages are "a la carte" approaches for customers seeking a flexible, outcome-focused engagement to accelerate continued value realization through tailored use-case deployments. This package type is best suited for customers who have already undergone Keyfactor Onboarding and are adding to their already-implemented solutions and/or preexisting infrastructure.

Always Included in our Services

Keyfactor implementations are led by a dedicated Project Manager and Solutions Architect, with support from a team of cross-functional subject matter experts, and tailored to the purchased project bundle. The assigned Project Manager and Solution Architect will guide you through our standard implementation phases.

The Keyfactor Project Manager will manage the entire implementation, and ensure deliverables are executed timely and within the project’s scope and budget. To deliver a successful implementation, both Keyfactor and the customer have responsibilities and at the center, a Keyfactor Project Manager will be responsible for project status communications and tracking the team’s progress in terms of the project plan and issues.

The following artifacts are included in all bundles below:

  • Kick-off Slide Deck: The Kick-off Slide Deck provides a summary of the relevant project information at kickoff including: project team members, bill of materials, scope of services, project methodology and timeline, meeting cadence, Keyfactor University, and next steps.

  • Project Plan: A Keyfactor project plan contains all deliverables within the scope for the bundle(s) and add-ons selected. These deliverables are broken down to individual tasks, to be assigned to Keyfactor, the customer, or other resources. All milestones, deliverables, and tasks are detailed in a specific sequence with dates for when it is planned to be resolved. Those dates come together to form what we call a project schedule.

  • Preparation Checklist(s): The Preparation Checklist is a list of tasks, pre-requisites, and considerations designed to ensure that all requirements and preparations are in place prior to the Keyfactor installation. It may include system requirements, dependencies, permissions/access requirements, configuration settings, and other pre-requisites.

  • Architecture Package: The Architecture Package is a comprehensive document detailing the customer’s Keyfactor requirements and design. It contains diagrams and other requirements and details that show the logical architecture of the customer’s environment and is generally used as a template for implementation. The Architecture Package provides a common reference for project stakeholders, ensuring everyone involved has a clear understanding of the Keyfactor design and implementation path.

    • Logical architecture diagrams

    • Technical specifications

  • Status Meeting Reports: Keyfactor provides regular updates on the status and progression of the project. These are generally reviewed during a project status meeting, and a copy is provided to the customer. The status updates are used to keep project stakeholders informed about what’s been accomplished, current challenges, and future plans.
